happy holi!

Holi, also referred to as The Festival of Colors, is celebrated every late February or early-ish March by the Hindu people. It's a holiday that celebrates the triumph of 'good' over 'bad.'

This colorful festival is said to bridge the social gap and renew already existing 'sweet relationships.'

Holi is primarily celebrated in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and other countries with large Hindu populations. Many of the places celebrating Holi have become tourist destinations during the festival, which can last up to 16 days. Supposedly, the best place to be during this festival is Barsana, India. But, I'm sure other places are awesome too ;)

The celebration officially begins with the lighting up of the giant bonfire on the eve of Holi. Music is played, songs are sung, and people hug and kiss each other saying 'Happy Holi.'

THEN comes the BEST part!

People throw colored paint, powder, and water all over each other for DAYS!!

We need to adopt this holiday!
looks like a very good time :)
